So I haven't made my decision yet about blogging or not blogging -- but while I do - I'm going to just give it a shot and see how it feels.
Late last week I got a message from a Dom - and he seems like a great fit for me -- a Daddy Dom type - -a bit older (but not too much) - gainfully employed -- an artist
and cute too
and I have tried to feel something about him -- he wants me to do the sub thing where I swoon and think about him all the time - where I melt inside
and
I just don't
and it's not a thing he's done or not done
I think I'm just not prepared for a Dom right now
that roller coaster ride
in the meantime
I had a vanilla date
it was a whirlwind sort of thing -- apparently his subscription to the dating site was running out -- so WHIZ BANG - we were at the coffee stage - in about 24 hours from first contact
let me pause here by saying - -he's not the typical guy for me -- he's VERY outgoing -- and super sporty -- and I didn't think anything would come of it
so I approached this as if dating was off the table.
and had a great time getting to know him
(and interestingly - for someone I met online in a HUGE city - we know people who know the same people -- so I guess that makes us only 3 degrees of separation - weird)
and up until the last 10 minutes of the date - I didn't think it was going anywhere other than friendship -- when he walked me to my car and planted a kiss on me that curled my toes (and I did my best to curl his back)
and we're going out again on Wednesday.
huh.
didn't see that coming
Will this go somewhere?
maybe
maybe not
but I think it might be good for me to keep my feet on the ground for a bit
and stay in the kiddie pool
and figure out what's right for me
Sounds like a wonderful date, take it slow and see where it goes. Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteyou know how "old adages" come to be? Coz they are true. One day (date?) at a time. You don't need to worry about picking china patterns or if he wants 10 cats just now. And as to the unexpected toe curling? Wonderful!! I'm thrilled for you, so happy that you're happy in this moment!

4 cats is my hard limit! Hypothetical or actual.
DeleteSlow and steady wins the race, Chica! It sounds like you just relaxed into that date, and it's working. I think you are onto something.
ReplyDeleteOmg, it must be the right cliche - "slow and steady wins the race" is exactly what i was thinking. And have fun. That might be the most important part.
