It's not me, it's you

Last week I made a great connection with someone online
vanilla yes -- but a great connection

We got on the phone
and I really had a good time

I tentatively made a date for the next day

and then

after I got off the phone
I realized

of course I connected to him

because he's essentially my ex-husband

so -- I put him off

and

(crap)

I'm bad at backing off

I'm not bad at picking up that someone's not interested in me
and
I accept it
and move on

don't text me back?
I get that message loud and clear

and
(shrug)

I don't much care

perhaps a bit of a sting
but hardly a slap in the face

but what I find is that I get the hurt guy response
with the snotty comeback

eyeroll

"oh -- please - come back -- I REALLY want you now"

  1. Is "essentially the ex-husband" so terrible. It's a real question. Sounds like you got cold feet?

    Just a thought.

  2. My Daddy is much like my ex- minus all the bad qualities of course :)
So not surprising there was the connection. Sorry he had to be snotty. That is so rude!
