Pixie is much better
when it's time for night night -- she wants all of her babies
I do mean ALL
in bed with her
actually crib
yes
I haven't moved her to a toddler bed yet -- if she's still contained in that thing by kindergarden I may consider it -- but until then - it gives this single momma a bit of control
and keeps her from hitting the floor -- because she's an energetic sleeper
so we put puppy in
and dragon
and bear
and monkey
and blanket
and when I go in to cover her up before I go to bed
all have been expelled
in fact
usually I hear a plaintiff cry of MOOOONKEEEEY
during the going to sleep struggles
I wonder
if it's upon seeing that she's cast him out
or her battle cry as she launches him into the air
I say keep 'em in baby jail until they can escape on their own. We kept Little One in his crib well past two. And when we did change it, he actually wasn't quite ready and we had to put the crib back together.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with battle cry as she launches him into the air.
Of course it's no battle cry! It is an expression of loss and longing for a beloved and engaging companion.
ReplyDeleteMine stayed in baby jail until they could climb out on their own, unfortunately baby monkeys climb early. About 18 months for the first two and 12 for the last one,who would climb out of the crib, over the baby gate, down the hall, and climb into bed with us in the middle of the night, without ever making a sound. Baby ninja. At that point I knew the battle was lost.
