and there are some mandatory classes that I have to take
today's class cracked me up
I had to take a 6 hour class on Restraint
no
no ropes
but they do teach you how to
Break a choke hold
Get someone to stop pulling your hair
Get someone to stop biting you
and how to block someone from beating the crap out of you
ahem
um
all things I would love for someone to do
so between fostering a small child who only wants to hug me (not crush, punch or choke me) -- and has yet to bite me (knocks furiously on wood)
and sort of liking those things socially
I think that this certificate and my new found chokehold breaking skills -- will stay dormant for yet another year
Respect to you on doing so many cotinuation courses. Here its a fight to get them to do 1 hr health and safty a year. By the way hugs and cuddles can be harmfull. I fell asleep cuddling my youngest, and let the cabbage boil dry. Took hours to get rid of the smell.

@Ashly - We have to get them here or they shut the house. Our agency provides most of them.

ReplyDeleteThat is hysterical. And...my loving, sweet, adorable boy went through a *wicked* biting stage around 2, 2.5 or so. I'd be sitting, cuddling and *whammo* out of the blue his teeth would be in my arm, shoulder, hand, thigh...whereever. It didn't last long, and I didn't hit him, but "OUCH" was a big word around here then. :) You never know when those classes could come in handy, right?
Did you volunteer to be the "floor model" for the demonstrations? (please, bite me, please, hold me like that...)...or is it bad of me to ask? *winks*
