So I made a lovely batch of rye bread
well
it would have been lovely
I use the no knead method
where you make a batch up
a huge batch
leave it on the counter for 2 hours
and then you can refrigerate for up to 2 weeks and bake fresh bread any time you want
it's lovely
in fact
but
when you forget about it
(I blame Tex)
and remember it
when you walk in the door
25 hours after putting it on the counter
aaaaand
your house smells of beer
but not in a good way
it's not so lovely
and I'm out of fucking flour
and am not allowed off cycle grocery shopping
sigh
I made some tentative plans with D tonight
and then asked for a raincheck
as it looked like it would be too late for sleepy
beer smelly
me
goodnight my friends
I will mix a batch tomorrow
and Friday night there will be bread
and all will be right with the world
Bad bread - boo! Bet you don't forget your next batch! And it sounds dellicious, btw.

lol, bad bread!!!! I left the sourdough sponge too long once, it climbed out of the bowl while I was at work, and spread across my counter top. Thank goodness that is as far as it got. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously there is a reason mouse doesn't attempt to bake her own bread.
