Ever After

Tex emailed me something last night

I don't know where it was from
but it touched me deeply

reminded me that while some of what is between us is
sexual

um

a lot of what is between us is sexual

that a lot of what is between us is the hope
that there could be a Ever After

so what I've been asked to consider is

Can I
Is it possible

to put your own happiness aside

all of it

not to give one thought for your own happiness

and focus only on the happiness
the comfort
the support
the desires
of your partner

and
let him

do the same

trust him
to focus only on yours

blink

I don't know if it's possible
but I am willing to try

and work hard at it
and fail at moments
but continue

for the right man

last night
I was too tired to stay on the phone
and he was caught up with Monday Night Football

but
I sent to sleep with a smile on my face
thinking about
the possibilities of a man with vision
who
wants what I want too
