I started a post on all of my favorite things from the weekend
but never got to finish it
I started feeling rotten last night
and woke up with a sore throat and a dry cough
Mom had a bad night -- so our hopes of her going home in the AM were not realized
and I went to work
my voice beginning to fail
by 1 -- it was gone
now -- those of you who know me -- will know that this happens at least once a year
this is the second time in 6 months or so
it seems that I got myself an ear infection (like I'm a 2 year old) -- that I had symptoms of when I got off the plane to see Tex
and it's only gotten worse
and I imagine that lowered my resistance enough to get Laryngitis as well.
So now I'm on speech restrictions
and antibiotics
and steriods
which I will not take all at once this time (even though the package says you can) because I might want to sleep at some point.
and still
not a bad week
any week that had a day with Tex hanging out can't be all bad
even one with my mom in the hospital -- and ear infection -- laryngitis and a baby howling in the other room
oh
STFU -- that's what the doctor ordered
at least there's no chance I'll add to the "yeah"s until I can talk again.
Feel Better!!!!

oh, so so sorry to hear about your voice/infection. NO fun. I have an annual bout with this as well (so far so good going into fall, though my allergies are wiping me out, bigtime this Autumn, the worst i've ever had.)...I still have my voice. :) (knocks wood!)
ReplyDeleteTake your meds REST YOUR VOICE. I picture myself doing this "martha-esque" thing and making you word-paddles. "YES" and "NO" sharing a paddle, flippable yanno? and a "WTF?" and "OF COURSE NOT YOU DUMBASS" for a second paddle. Then there's "GREAT IDEA" and "YOU SHOULD GET WORKING ON THAT NOW". And after, when your voice is better, you can send the paddles to Tex... multipurposing is my speciality. And you know I'm that crafting kind of gal!
hahahaha.
Hope that made you smile (but NO talking!)

A Big get well from Germany!!!
