Holy Pink Lizards, Batman!

So where I live we get these lizards - not usually in your swanky houses -- but if you live in an older house like mine -- that has doors that don't seal quite right -- you get them

they're mostly harmless

they eat bugs
and you learn to ignore them

at night they'll run across the floor of your kitchen and scare the pee out of you -- but that's about it

oh

and they're tiny
about 1 - 2 inches long

so mostly I ignore them
because sure I see them -- but I don't have a problem with ants or other crawlies -- the lizard take care of them (and in an older house -- that's a nice thing)

so

true confessions (and if you're eating something -- stop)

I reached into the box of cheerios to grab a fistful of cereal to add to the Pixie's yogurt
and plopped the cheerios -- and a desicated lizard into her bowl -- which the Pixie picked out and handed to me - "DA!"

nifty

so now - I'll be putting everything in these

you know -- after I buy new everything that's ever been opened in my pantry

ok

you can go back to snacking.

  2. That's a wild story. I like lizards, but I've never had any show up inside where I've ever lived. That's a cute picture.

  3. oh. ewww. Da indeed.

Up here it's mealy bugs. They're super-duper tiny, and get into anything that's been opened and unused for a while...like a box of spaghetti for instance. And you don't always notice them until you dump said spaghetti into boiling water, and then see all these black specks floating to the surface. ugh.

and let's not get me going on the time we had a mini-infestation in my pantry of meal moths...those suckers are pernicious, fast, and super invasive (and come in mostly in dog/cat food bags...)

who doesn't mind those lizards either (we saw them in florida when there) but does mind bugs in her food. )
